I love to learn and I try my best to instill this love of learning in my kids. I am constantly trying to teach them new things and reinforce concepts they have learned at school. To keep them engaged and interested however, I have to get creative and combine learning with fun. When KleenSlate generously offered me some of their whiteboards to review, I immediately had ideas on how I could use them right here at home.
Julia Rhodes founded KleenSlate in 2001 after becoming frustrated with the poor quality of dry erase products. A teacher for 14 years, Julia knew how costly dry erase products were, especially with how often they needed replaced. She knew there had to be a solution and after taking early retirement, she created dry erase products that were dependable, and affordable.
KleenSlate does more than just offer dry erase products. The company reinvented the whiteboard by giving it a new, double-sided paddle design with a spot to hold the marker and a hook for a microfiber cleaning cloth. They also offer dry erase sleeves that allow students to place their sheet in the whiteboard to do their work. The boards come in 6 color options and KleenSlate offers over 100 free worksheets that you can download right from their website. Their markers are certified non-toxic, have a low odor, and are made with durable tips that do not push in.
The whiteboards were unlike any I had seen before and I knew right away the kids were going to love using them. My favorite part is the handle that makes them easier to hold and view. They are also durably designed, which is important to me. Since the marker and cleaning cloth attach to the whiteboard, it makes those accessories easy to access and store.
We use the whiteboards for so many activities. For my littlest, I draw numbers and letters to get her started on learning the basics. For my boys, we use them to practice spelling words and math problems. We also use them to play games such as tic-tac-toe and hangman. The boys also love doodling on them and writing notes to each other. We have also began using them for games in the car to keep the kids entertained.
The whiteboards wipe clean easily and the markers have held up remarkably well. You can even wash the erasers to keep them clean. These whiteboards would be perfect for classroom use so students can hold them up for the teacher to see their answers. They would also make a great choice for party games! I am thrilled with the KleenSlate products and we will continue using them.
You can pick up a two pack of customizable whiteboards for $15.99 right on the website.
