*I am receiving a case of Pura Vida Ultimate Tequila, Backstage Pass & VIP Pass to the Rockstar UpRoar Festival in exchange for this post, as well as 2 additional post. However all thoughts are still 100% my own*
As most of y’all know, I had the opportunity to attend the Rockstar Energy UpRoar Festival on August 29th. This festival is a huge rockfest and includes up and coming bands Tattered, These Raven Skies, Sons of Revelry, Within Reason, New Medicine, 3 Years Hollow, Escape the Fate, and Pop Evil. You can also check out 4 main bands BuckCherry, Skillet, Seether and Godsmack.
We were hosted by Pura Vida Tequila as part of the Godsmack Rock The Shots Tour. This was such an awesome experience. Godsmack is one of my all-time favorite bands and I was really excited to see them. Godsmack was formed in February of 1995 and the members are Sully Erna, Robbie Merrill, Tony Rombola and Shannon Larkin. They have 7 albums, with their most recent being 1000HP.
So Friday final came and I made the short trip to Simpsonville, SC to the Charter Amphitheatre. I was very excited to not only meet fellow blogger, Marie DeWolfe ( Dixieland Review ), as well as Stewart Skloss, President/CEO of Pura Vida Tequila. When I got there I went to Will Call to pick up my ticket and then sent Marie a short little text that I was there. When I met up with her I got my pass and we headed on over to the Pura Vida Bus.
This bus was awesome. It is decked out with Pura Vida Tequila, plush leather seats, TVs, you name it, the bus has it. When we first arrived on the bus we were greeted by Stewart Skloss and were made mixed drinks with Pura Vida tequila. Pura Vida tequila is 100% Agave Azul, which is only the best tequila. If you have tried tequila, then you know that a lot of them have a very harsh taste. Pura Vida offers you a smooth tasting tequila, almost like silk, with a very fresh taste. Also, the bottles are really cool looking and have a cork top. Pura Vida Anejo tequila is aged for at least one year in a high quality, American oak bourbon barrel. This gives the tequila a smooth and richer taste. It is the ultimate tequila. Also made by Pura Vida is an Extra Anejo Tequila. This one is aged for at least three years in an oak bourbon barrel, making it extremely smooth, extremely delightful, and extremely delicious. If you love the taste of tequila but hate the harshness, then you have to try Pura Vida. You will not be disappointed.
Now back to the concert. We had a little time before the band and contest winners arrived on the bus, so we all sat around and hung out. Stewart was very nice and asked us both about our blogs and he loved to hear about it. I love when a President of a company is so nice and welcoming and it shows in his tequila. Radio stations did contest for the winners to hang out on the bus for the 8:15 Tequila Time toast with Godsmack, so they started loading on the bus.
Then a few minutes later, Godsmack loaded in the bus. I was really excited to meet them and get the chance to hang out with them for a little while. Godsmack really enjoyed meeting their fans and signed autographs for everyone. They had to leave shortly after to go ahead and go do their sound check for their performance. The contest winners left and Marie and I got our drinks topped up with a lime and Pura Vida Tequila mixed drink and headed on over to enjoy the concert.
We arrived to our seats just in time to see Skillet perform their last song. As part of this event, we were given photo passes which gave us access to the photo pit to take pictures of the bands. When Seether was getting ready to head up on stage, Marie’s photographer and I headed on up. This was truly an amazing experience and a huge thanks to Pura VIda for setting this all up and for hosting us. Seether performed an hour-long set and it was great. I remember jamming to Seether in my first car, 1995 Chevy Camero, on my way to school (I’m only 26, so not long ago). The time came for Godsmack to get the stage ready and I was on pins and needles waiting to see them live. Godsmack sure does know how to put on an amazing show. Check out a few pictures from the show below:
I have a ton more photos that I took. Head on over here and check out my dropbox for all of the pictures.I had such a wonderful time and was thankful to get this rare opportunity. Thank you Pura Vida!
