I know we all love the fun awesome Valentine cards we spot all over Pinterest. Well this year I decided I was NOT going to buy store Valentine cards. I wanted the girls to take something fun and unique to school this year. I was determined to be one of those mamas this year that was “cool”…LOL. I scoured all around looking for fun ideas and searched all around the stores. I happened upon these CUTE dinos that were only $.98 per 8 pack. Once I saw them I knew immediately what I was going to do! Because who doesn’t love dinos? And it is a whole lot better than candy!
Dinomite print located below. (8.5 x 11 sheet with 3 cards or 4 x6 print)
Dinosaurs (I bought mine from Walmart – 8pk /$.98)
Hot glue gun and glue gun sticks (optional).
Baker’s Twine or any string that you prefer ( I found mine at Walmart in the craft section).
Whole punch or some object to make holes for your twine (I used a tack that has a pretty thick base).
Scissors to cut your twine.
I used the 4 x 6 print and printed mine off at Walmart on photo paper because I haven’t bought ink for my printer yet. They are best printed on a heavier paper like cardstock. Since I printed mine out on regular photo paper I did back them with some white cardstock on the side that the dinos would be attached to. I did try to use a hole punch but I felt the holes were too big and I couldn’t reach the areas on the card I wanted to. I just used my tack to poke the holes and slid my twine through the holes from the backside of the card. Before tying down the dino I chose to add a dab of hot glue on the dino just to make sure it wasn’t going anwhere. Don’t worry the hot glue won’t hurt the dino. You know have this fun and bright DIY Valentine card. All that is left to do know is your child sign their name beside the heart!
Your littles will love these and so will their classmates. What I love is these are fun for a big range of age groups! Grab your printable below!!
