LeapPad Platinum and ImagiCards Review

I was so excited when I found out I was a LeapFrog Mom Ambassador!! I am so passionate about this brand and how they make learning fun. When I received my welcome kit I was so excited. The LeapPad Platinum with the ImagiCards was part of the welcome kit, I do not know who was happier, myself or my kids!! This is our first tablet that is LeapFrog and let me just say that we were not disappointed. I was worried that this might not be a tablet that kids could really play without buying tons of games for them (hence receiving the ImagiCards with it) but I was very surprised with how much came preloaded on the tablet. First, when you set up your LeapPad you will get to download a full game. It also includes 10 apps plus demos of several games. My girls have been playing the demos of several games and they are having just as much fun. The LeapPad is the best tablet that has come from them yet. It is a full 7-inch screen with 8GB of memory. It is slightly heavier than the older models, but that is just to hold all of the amazingness that comes in it. Check out all of the amazing features:

  • 7” hi-res multi-touch capacitive screen, 1024×600 resolution
  • Powerful quad-core processor
  • 8GB memory
  • Wi-Fi and kid-safe web with LeapSearch
  • 5 hours rechargeable battery
  • 2 cameras and video recorders
  • Includes 10 apps plus 6 LeapFrog Imagicard and mini game

Now if you think this is amazing, you should really play the LeapPad Platinum with the ImagiCards. Right now they are available in Paw Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Letter Factory. The ImagiCards take playing to another whole level. Inside the tin box, you will find tons of cars ranging from numbers, fractions, letters, and even the characters from that show. With the ImagiCards you can take pictures with your favorite characters and also play games and all while learning. Each cartridge retails for only $24.99. Something that I really love that my daughter found out while playing this last night was for certain games that you play with the ImagiCards you can pull up the whole deck of cards. This is perfect for sitting in car line and not having to bring a ton of different cards and chance losing some too.IMG_20150929_113109

Our final thoughts: I am in complete awe over this device. I homeschool my youngest and I have implemented the LeapPad Platinum into our school work every day. She is learning and playing with her favorite pups (She loved the Paw Patrol ImagiCards) all while learning how to add, subtract and so much more. My oldest, who is 6, is also in love the LeapPad. Her favorite game is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because it is a little hard and challenging. Can you believe that a 6-year-old is already starting to add and subtract fractions?? Thanks to Leonardo and the game. If you have ever been considering getting a LeapPad, now is the time.
