Pressure cookers have become popular in recent years, mostly due to their ability to speed up the cooking process. You can make perfectly cooked rice, a pot of beans, soup, or tender chicken in a fraction of the time while improving flavor and texture. I have been curious about pressure cookers, but put off buying one because I didn’t need to spend money on another appliance that would end up just collecting dust. Recently, I received a miAroma 2-Quart Digital Pressure Cooker & Multicooker to review and it has changed the way I work in the kitchen.
The miAroma pressure cooker & multicooker works by boiling water, building steam, and creating pressure. As pressure increases, the temperature of the water rises above the normal boiling point, which in turn cooks food faster. Once full pressure is reached inside the appliance, steam is released through a valve. This kitchen appliance is a pressure cooker, rice cooker, slow cooker, and steamer all in one.

This model features a 2-quart capacity, a safe-locking lid, and preset programs for various dishes. It also has a 15-hour delay timer and automatic keep warm. With just the push of a button, you can enjoy up to 8 cups of delicious rice, stew, chili, and more. It has a compact design to save countertop space and a carrying handle for portability.
- Metal steam rack
- Rice measuring cup
- Serving spatula
The instructions for the miAroma were not very detailed, so thankfully it was pretty easy to figure out. It is all digital, so you basically add your ingredients, add water, press a button for power, and the button for the food you are cooking. You can also adjust the cook times as needed. The first thing I used the pressure cooker for was white rice. Typically when I cook rice, it ends up under-cooked or sticky, but with the miAroma, it was so easy. I just added the rice and water and it came out just right.
We don’t eat a ton of rice, so I love that I can make other things in the pressure cooker. Ham and beans are popular in my house, and in the past, I always used the slow cooker, which literally took all day. In this multicooker, it takes under an hour! Seriously. And, as an added bonus, it seals in the flavor. The speed in which it cooks makes it great for nights when I forget to start dinner early enough. I appreciate how easy it is to use and that it does not take up too much space in my kitchen.
