Thrifty Tips – Concentrated Laundry Sauce

* I did not receive anything for this post. Enjoy*

While I do love my big named laundry detergents, they are just out of my price range. Check out this awesome recipe on how to make a Highly Concentrated Laundry Sauce that you only need to use 1 TBS at a time. After you let it sit for awhile, as in a few hours, it turns into this almost mayonnaise type of stuff. It is really neat and smells better than the top dollar laundry detergent.

1 Bar Felz-Naptha(Zote works also)

1 cup Borax

1 cup Washing soda(not baking soda

4 cups of water

1/2 cup scent crystals-optional(I use Final Touch Fresh Expressions but any will work)

2 Quart mason type jars

1. Grate Felz-Naptha.

2. Heat water to a light simmer

3. Add grated soap

4.Stir constantly until all soap is dissolved(keep it at a simmer, do not allow to boil) and remove from heat.

5. Add remaining ingredients and stir until completely dissolved.

6. divide equally between 2 jars(if needed add enough water to bring ut up to shoulder of jar)

7.Let sit until cool. It will separate as it cools(this is what you want) 8.Once cooled pour into blender and blend until creamy(You can also use a stick blender inserted into jar).

It will be about the consistency of Mayonnaise. Return to jar and store until needed.

Use 1 tsp to 1 tbs to load depending on size and how soiled.

I’m going to give this a try! I have a ton of Downy Unstoppables that I got on sale so I don’t know if I am going to mix them in — not sure what would happen! — but I will make an unscented version and try it out! I like that it’s concentrated.

I would be willing to give this a try. I am not sure where to buy scent crystals. Any suggestions? Smell is a big deal for me when buying laundry detergent so if I can find some great smelling scent crystals, I’m in
