Tips to keep your kids teeth in top shape while at school #Review

What would you have to say is one thing you and your kids may forget about doing while in school? Brushing teeth right?! With so much going on during the school day and with afternoon activities, our teeth end up getting pushed to the side line.

Great Expressions Dental Centers helps provide access to affordable dental care without having to sacrifice quality or convenience. Great Expressions has offices located in Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Virginia.

How many parents pack a toothbrush and toothpaste to send with your kids for after they eat their lunch? I have to admit, that sadly I didn’t. That is just one thing I forget about on top of having to get kids off to school in the mornings. Teeth need to be brushed after every meal, including lunch. Great Expressions sent me a brushing kit for just that reason. I have it packed in Aubreigh’s lunchbox for her to use after she gets done eating lunch. Kids need to brush and floss after every meal. Our teeth are very important to our health. Since Aubreigh has started back to school she now keeps her teeth in tip-top shape, thanks to Great Expressions.

Check out these useful tips from Great Expressions:

• Heading back to school can be a little bit of a drag, especially after spending the summer in warm weather and the sun. Find little ways to celebrate, such as losing a tooth, to brighten up your kid’s day. When a tooth is lost you can create a tooth fairy mailbox or pass out tooth fairy certificates at school to make losing a tooth extra fun.

• Kids are in school for a really long time, and by afternoon they are hungry and will reach for a candy bar. Send healthy snacks to school with your kids, or help the teacher set up a healthy snacks bin in the classroom so kids will reach for something healthy as a snack. Parents, also make sure to pack a healthy lunch. Some great things to include in your kids lunch are things like fruit, trail mix and granola bars. Acidic items such as fruit juices and sodas can do a lot of harm to their teeth.

• Schedule those yearly dentist appointments before school starts back. When school starts back calendars get filled and it’s very easy to say we will just reschedule this appointment, and then just all together forget about it.

• Save money with GEDC’s Smile Protection Plan. This is an all-in-one discount plan that will offer big savings on dental care. Visit here to see more about this plan.

Brushing and flossing are so important for kids to make sure to keep up with during school time. I like this brand of toothpaste and floss. Works very good.
