Being a mom is a HUGE blessing. Not a day goes by that I look at my beautiful babies and are so thankful every morning they are in my life! Let’s be honest though – I have NO idea what I am doing. Even after 8 years, I am kinda just winging it day by day. At the end of the day as long as the kids are clean and have a full belly, it’s all good.
It’s all good when my youngest tries to make her own milk and pours it everywhere. It’s all good when my oldest makes a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and my counter is covered with brown good. It’s all good when I just swept and kids come running through the house with dirty shoes. It’s all good when I just finished washing dishes and the kids start screaming they are hungry. It’s all good when my youngest decides to drink water from the dog’s water bowl. It’s all good when five minutes before bedtime, my oldest remembers that important project that is due tomorrow. You know what, it’s all good.
Being a stay at home mommy, there are many different things that “try” me during the day. Some things I just look around, and fall to the floor and start laughing. Dinner is one of these… buckle up your seatbelts because this is going to be a wild ride. My husband and I have recently started eating healthy, and of course, if it is anything slimy, green, rice, or anything that does not come in a plastic box my kids just won’t eat. No matter how cute I cut it, how yummy it looks, just no matter what it is usually a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a lunchable while my husband and I eat the dinner I spent all evening preparing. There is always an ewwww or that looks gross or it is slimy or it doesn’t feel right. There is always SOMETHING with every dinner I cook, even if they have tried it before and LOVED it. Now there are some days, I am just like the Beast (see picture below).
99% of the time, I want to tell my children that. If they don’t want what I fix for dinner, then go ahead and starve, but I always fix them what they want. Thanks to Red Baron though, that is one night a week that everyone eats what I fix, and no fussing just a lot of mmm mmm good going around the counter.
Red Baron has recently introduced the Baroness. She is the official Wing Mama of all the mealtime chaos that happens in every kitchen. She is a mom, just like the rest of us, that loves motherhood and all of the chaos that comes with it. The Baroness loves to hear all of our mom war stories and share patches to all the awesome moms!
The Baroness is giving all of us awesome moms some war patches to rock proudly. I picked the Mothers Slay patch. My word of the year just happens to be Slay, and it just it describes everything I hope to accomplish this year.
No matter what war stories you encounter every day, the Baroness and Red Baron are here to help you. Pick up a pizza for dinner and enjoy a glass of wine! Who cares if dinner is being served on a snowman plate, at least everyone is fed!
Something else a little special just for my readers!! Share your parenting war stories on social media with my on social media (@MyBlessedSLife). Three lucky readers who tweet me using the hashtag #wingmama will win a free Red Baron Pizza Coupon! (Red Baron will fulfill, upon your selection of the winners).
